Booking a hotel, sight unseen, from such a distance in a foreign
land was a little scary. I had no true way of telling if the web sites
describing the Elysees Union were misleading in anyway, or if the
hotel was located in a nice safe area or not. My husband and I were
pleasantly surprised!! We found all the pictures on the web to represent
this hotel accurately. It is nice and clean. The staff is extremely
friendly, helpful, and they all speak English well. The rooms are
small, but such seems to be the case all over Europe. For what we
paid ($99/night), we felt we got a great deal. This hotel is also
in a perfect location. It's located about half a block from a metro
station and half way between the Arc de Triomph and the Tour l'Eiffel.
You can lean out the window, look left, and see the Eiffel Tower (fascinating
view at night). If you were to lean out your window and look right,
you'd see the Arc if not for the building blocking your view. But,
step outside, turn left, walk about 20 steps and turn right, and there
she is right down the street (only bout a 3 minute walk away)! Oh
yeah, the little french restaurant next door is really nice too! If
you are looking for a decent place to stay, in a wonderful location,
and you're on a budget, the Hotel Elysees Union is the place to stay...
